The region of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) requires quality country comparable data and official statistics to design and evaluate policies and programmes for the region's growth, development and regional integration pursuits. In that regard, this web-based data dissemination platform is capable of storing country data and aggregating at the regional level and other specified country groups; storing metadata; and displaying visual objects such as maps, tables and charts.
The platform is useful to anyone who wants economic, social and environmental data for the OECS region at the country and regional aggregate levels. These levels are the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (OECS 8), a monetary union of eight of the 11 countries and which use the same currency; the Eastern Caribbean Economic Union (OECS 7), a union of seven of the eight countries that have signed a protocol for free movement people, services, capital and free circulation goods between and among them; and OECS 9 for all English-speaking states. Martinique’s and Guadeloupe’s statistical infrastructure conforms to that of the European Statistical System as departments of France; and as such, not all their data will not be included in these aggregates.
